A Community Church with a Family Focus
The Staff of Evangel Baptist Church:

The Senior Pastor
Pastor Darrell Wireman
Our pastor, Dr. Darrell Wireman has provided vision, direction, leadership, and an excellent example of what it means to be Christ-like. You'll find that although Pastor Wireman is educated and experienced, he will relate to you on a personal level.

Pastor Wireman is married and has two adult sons (Josh -- a pharmacist working in Arizona, and Matt -- currently pursuing another degree at IUP). His wife Barb teaches the 2&3 yr. old Sunday School class and works with the Sparkies in AWANA.

The Youth Pastor
Pastor Dave
Pastor Dave has been the youth pastor at Evangel since May of 2003.  He received his bachelor of arts degree in Bible and Theology with a minor in youth ministries from Appalachian Bible College in the spring of 2000. After finishing school, he took a position as the youth pastor of a Baptist church in Ashland, Ohio where he served for 3 years before coming here to Evangel.

He is married and has two children (Caleb-8 yrs. and Kylee - 4 yrs.).  When not spending time with the youth or his family, Pastor Dave loves cheering on the Nittany Lions and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Assistant Pastor

Pastor Ed has been the assistant pastor over education and assimilation at Evangel since May of 2008. He is a native of the area and has attended Evangel since 1975. He received his bachelor of science degree in Education in 1974. He was employed for 31 years in upper management in the financial arena prior to God calling him into full time Christian service here at Evangel.

He and his wife Vicki have two grown daughters who are married.

Minister of Worship

Sean Moon has been the Minister of Worship since July of 2009. Music has always been a part of his life and he grew up singing solos and duets in church. In 2001, he attended a Steven Curtis Chapman concert and thought that it would be really cool to learn how to play the guitar! Shortly thereafter, he began his journey of learning the guitar and was mentored along the way by a friend. By the summer of 2002, he was playing his guitar and singing in front of people and was active in the church praise team. In 2007, he began leading worship.

He grew up in Lewistown and has attended Evangel since 1975. His background is in management, and currently he works outside of the church, managing a small construction company.

He is married to Tera, and they have two girls (Victoria and Brielle). When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as riding motorcycles.
